Join Professor Carl Chinn as he explores the history and significance of Frederick Street in the Jewellery Quarter.

The talk will cover highlights such as the Chamberlain Clock, the world-famous pen trade represented at the fantastic Pen Museum, significant companies based on Frederick Street such as Thomas Fattorini Ltd and the street’s connection to Rip Van Winkle author Washington Irving. Carl will also explore the lives of local residents such as Kathleen Dayus who experienced kinship, community and hardship during their time living and working in the local area.

The workshop room is accessible by stairs and may be unsuitable for those who use a wheelchair or have difficulty climbing stairs.
